This web site has a simple aim - to make Sir Alan Gardiner's orignal hieroglyphic sign list accessible on the web

The site uses the same database of hieroglyph definitions as our iPhone apps:

Our database of hieroglyphs is not based on original research or study of inscriptions. We have sourced definitions from the books listed in our bibliography page, and in some cases from the web
